Transportation Coordinator

 

I started with Weld County School District RE-3(J) in 1993. I am the Transportation Coordinator, I am responsible for the overall direction, leadership and administration of the Transportation Department. I manage the Operations Section of the Transportation Department. Oversee daily operations to ensure the provision of safe, reliable and efficient transportation services. I over see all field trip scheduling and execution.  Coordinates all special needs requirements.  Responsible for the development and updating of all transportation schedules, to include regular education and special needs education transportation. Responsible for planning, installing, operating, training and day to day trouble shooting for Department of Transportation technology hardware and software. Provides basic technical assistance and support for the department.  Handle complaints concerning service, routes and driver performance. Coordinates all extracurricular activity routes for the District. Develops, coordinates and implement the School Bus Safety Program for the District. Conducts training, certification and evaluation of school bus drivers and other district personnel for commercial driving Licenses (CDL) for the State of Colorado and for small vehicle operator classifications. Serve as the primary resource for principals in identifying and helping resolve transportation issues. Provides direction and control for drivers over the radio.  Makes adjustments to operation based on changing requirements.  Provides information and directs all daily scheduled operations.      

 

Before I worked for the District I was in Hotel Management, before that I was a Physical Education teacher.  I have lived in the area for 19 years. I have 2 son’s that went to Weld Central high school.  I love to read and listen to books on tape.  Nothing better than spending time with family and my two dogs.
